This trip turned out to be a bit of a disaster. The entire point of the hike was to make it up to Finger Lake and check out Middle Palisade towering above the South Fork drainage, but we never made it that far.

Mosquito Flats to Mono Creek: Where no dog has napped before

Mount Whitney Dayhike: 10,000 calories
My brother and I dayhiked up Mount Whitney last weekend. It was our first time on the mountain and it surpassed expectations. The extreme mileage and elevation gain pays off with amazing views and a hair raising stretch of trail at 14,000 feet.

South Lake to Bishop Pass: Disappointment at Dusy Basin
What a difference a week makes. After an amazing trip to Moonlight Falls near Lake Sabrina, I was ready to get back up into the Sierra as soon as possible. Full of excitement, I headed back up to the Bishop area to explore the Dusy Basin area of Kings Canyon, but unfortunately my streak of luck was not meant to last.
